My first post is late but it’s for last week. I haven’t fully grasped what living the adventure is, but I have an idea. For me it’s doing something beyond myself, alot of times to help someone else. Last week I went to my buddy’s house who is a heavy drinker and in a way pushed recycling on him. I grabbed a trashbag and nose dove into his trashcan for about 45 beer cans. When I was done I hung an empty trashbad on his cabinet and said that was where the cans go from now on. Now I went about all this very tastefully but I did show my concern for it. He wasn’t offended at all, he actually seemed very impressed and motivated.
Thursday me and Jordan went to church early to practice music and we were approached by a homeless man. His name was Tony Brown, a.k.a. Harley, and he lived in the woods with some people close by. I was so moved by this gentleman. He didn’t ask for a dime. His first move was asking for work. He asked if he could cut our grass. Blew me away. I’m so used to first being begged for money. It was a breath of fresh air. That night was suppose to be in the 40’s so he asked if we had an extra jacket or coat. After a moment of hesitation, I reached in my car and threw him an extra hoodie I had. Not to pat my self on the back, because I hesitated at first and almost told him I didn’t have anything. I’m trying my best to lose all selfishness. I’m tired of living for myself.
